Collaborative Leader and Digital Learning Fellowship

About Liminal Collaboration

Liminal Collaboration is a consulting organization dedicated to guiding communities along the journey toward meaningful community change. We’re founded on the principle that lasting transformation happens in the liminal spaces where old ideas and structures dissolve and new possibilities emerge. We partner with foundations, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations to help people work together across differences to create systems change.

Liminal Collaboration believes that complex social and economic problems cannot be solved without many organizations, government, and individuals working together. Communities, both rural and urban, that have overcome challenges have done so by creating mutually beneficial relationships with clear, common goals. We help create collaborative environments that are safe and open, support experimentation, and challenge established norms – encouraging people to tap into their collective creativity, work across boundaries, and generate innovate solutions

Collaboration is about building trust, sharing power, and embracing differences to achieve more sustainable results. When done right, equity is baked into all aspects of collaboration, and the results include more people with lived/living experiences making decisions that impact them directly.

Liminal Collaboration’s co-founders have worked together in partnering organizations for 16 years, supporting policy, systems, and environmental change in communities. Collectively, they have over three decades of experience supporting communities in their efforts to build stronger relationships, activate leaders, and support communities to come together to solve complex problems. Their love for working alongside community members to achieve social and economic change compelled them to launch Liminal Collaboration and support community leaders in their efforts to transform systems through cross-sector collaboration.
