Meet Nina, who brings great experience to the Collaborative Leadership and Digital Learning Fellowship
We are excited to introduce you to Nina Kaur. She is Liminal Collaboration’s Collaborative Leadership and Digital Learning Fellow. Over the past five plus years, Nina worked across many areas, including education, international development, and climate action. She is drawn to work in social impact spaces. In that time, she’s launched fellowships, built systems that support changemakers, and created learning materials for teams working in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.
The common thread is that she truly enjoys creating content: onboarding guides, toolkits, and other resources to help people learn and lead in complex spaces.
Nina shared that she’s come to see that the “how” matters just as much as the “what” in creating meaningful social impacts.
Most recently, Nina was a project coordinator at IREX (International Research and Exchanges Board). There, she managed leadership development and cultural exchange programs like the Mandela Washington Fellowship. She also helped launch initiatives like the Climate Talent Initiative, aimed at strengthening the global climate talent pipeline. A lifelong believer in the power of people-to-people exchanges, Nina sees these programs as a meaningful way to build international collaboration and advance shared understanding.
“I've seen how little space we give ourselves to reflect or grow on a personal level, while trying to transform systems. We're in a moment where the challenges we face - climate, inequality, disconnection - are too big for any one sector to solve alone. People are working hard, but often without a shared language or shared power. And while building programs is important, so is learning to collaborate across differences, adapting to uncertainty, and staying human in the process.”
Nina lives in and grew up in Eastern North Carolina. But after living in Spain, she’s hooked on international travel. Once a ‘city’ kid who avoided the outdoors, she now loves hiking, cooking, and growing a jungle of houseplants. When she’s not having fun at work, she’s likely daydreaming about her next adventure.
Over the next year, Nina will develop online learning tools for more people and collaborative groups to learn from Liminal Collaboration and peers. And if you’ve worked with us before, you know that we don’t do anything without co-designing with those on-the-ground!
With Nina coming on-board, there’s more of us to work with you to shape your collaborative together. If you’d like to hear more about Nina’s work and/or her background, feel free to reach out (nina@liminalcollaboration.com). And if you’re curious, inspired, or have ideas to share, we’d love to hear from you anytime.
